So where do we go from here? Do we root for Virginia wins, or do we hope that we lose out to seal the deal with some coaching changes?
Personally, I'm thinking that I root for only one more W this season -- vs. Virginia Tech. A 4-8 season (included losses to W&M and Duke) should be enough to seal Groh's fate. A win over Virginia Tech is nothing short of embarrassing for them.
I feel your pain, having the same rooting allegiances -- the Michigan teams since forever, UVA since several weeks before a stirring 63-21 loss to (a pre-Zook) Illinois team ...
(Also: Hi, Brian! Rooting against your team is bad karma. For shame.)
Funny, that game against Illinois was sorta-kinda my first as a UVA fan. I was pulling for UVA because my application was in but I didn't know if I'd be accepted yet, so I was afraid to get too wrapped up in it lest I be turned down. Good thing. I'd have had a pretty similar reaction.
(of course, that means my first real game as a fan was the next year against BYU....ouch.)
I am a Virginia fan and this is my Blawgg. I began life as a diehard Michigan fan, and orange joined the maize and blue in my blood when, as a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed first year, I saw my first UVA football game on a hot September afternoon.
Here you will find impassioned and monumentally biased coverage of 'Hoos football in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball and lacrosse in the spring, and everything else when the mood strikes me.

Even if we win the next four games, which we won't, Groh is gone. Never ever root against your own team.
